The Wombats

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

The Wombats are a must-see, as they’ve just started the fast-track to rock ‘n’ roll superstardom. The three chaps from Liverpool are the sexiest export from the British Isles currently. A Scouse trio who take the freewheeling energy of the Arctic Monkeys and introduce it to Weezer’s daft pop hooks. They’re bloody terrific! The band’s debut album, A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation, has recently been qualified as the “hottest record in the world” by Zane Lowe from BBC Radio 1, and he certainly knows what he’s talking about… The singles Let’s Dance To Joy Division, Moving To New York or Kill The Director are the most amazingly refreshing, 100% infectious indie-pop hits since… Well, you’ll LOVE them! The Wombats played a short slot at Beijing’s Midi Festival recently and The Guardian wrote: “For one glorious half-hour concert at least – bigger than The Rolling Stones!”
