Richard Bona

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

He is a gem. That’s what journalists write about him. Born in East Cameroon in 1967, he travelled to Paris as a youngster and immersed himself in the world of Miles Davis, Chet Baker and Ben Webster. Within two months, he played with Didier Lookwood, Marc Ducret as well as Manu Dibango and Salif Keïta. Moving onwards to New York, he started releasing multi-faceted records, featuring his songwriting skills and his instrumental prowess, but also his rich and haunting voice… He’s said to be one of the best bassists on the face of the planet. Richard Bona’s forthcoming album The Ten Shades Of Blues will be released in October.
