Portugal. The Man

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

This weird Alaskan 4-piece is making brilliantly ambitious avant-indie rock that’s like anything you’ll hear all year! Psychedelic and bluesy prog rock with howling melodies, haunting background vocals/chants/interplay and 70s-flavoured organs. Elements of Led Zeppelin, The Mars Volta, The White Stripes, Wolfmother and Blind Melon pop up throughout. But Portugal. The Man’s ambitious journeys are succinct and accessible. They hit you quickly with several, hook-filled ideas and move on. The Satanic Satanist, Portugal. The Man’s latest release is once again tremendously consistent and eclectic. It’s receiving truckloads of praise currently and it truly is unbelievably infectious. A sunny, groovy, summer soirée with hooks and riffs and anthems sent down from a troupe of bearded angels donning unkempt wings… Do take our word for it: Portugal. The Man are one of the premier rock bands of the year! Check them out if you’re into real quality!
