Eagles of Death Metal

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

The Eagles of Death Metal may be the most misleading bandname since 10,000 Maniacs. On their debut album, Peace Love Death Metal, the band sounds like neither The Eagles (a relief really…) nor death metal. The same goes for the current album Death By Sexy. The combo feasts in some of the finest stoner / garage / desert rock ever composed. They’re not resurrecting a fallen-from-grace genre or even attempting to subvert any of the rock cliché they indulge in – their only agenda is to have a good time, dude. Jesse “The Devil” Hughes is assuming the guitar and vocal duties, Josh Homme (from Queens Of The Stone Age) takes over the drumming while Tim VanHamel from Belgian rock outfit Millionaire strikes the chords. The band is further proof of the fact that music doesn’t have to be ironic to have a sense of humour…
