Selah Sue

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Discovered on the web with her first single Raggamuffin’, Selah Sue’s music videos have attracted more than one million views as of today. The reggae-ragga sound textures that have been part of her daily life were soon going to influence her – first of all the Erykah Badu nu-soul sound, later on Meshell Ndegeocello, but before all Lauryn Hill’s Fugees, her only icon… Warm, powerful, deep, slightly hoarse, deceptively vulnerable just a second later… the voice of Selah Sue is truly unique. She’s been refining her art through the stage for two years, supporting major international acts such as Keziah Jones or Patrice in some places. Until her first album scheduled for February 2011, a five-tracks EP has been released on October 18th. Among the new songs is Please, a title featuring Cee Lo Green, the one half of Gnarls Barkley.
