Miss Platnum

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Miss Platnum – Balkan Beats Reloaded! What started two years ago as an experiment has become a very successful live event. Ruth Maria Renner once set out to knit together her R’n’B and soul skills and her Romanian origin and turns into Miss Platnum. She subsequently directed a renowned nine-piece gipsy brass band from Belgrade touring throughout Europe and sparkled as support act for German mega stars Peter Fox and Die Fantastischen Vier. And this brass band skilfully provided the basic structure for Miss Platnum’s new album The Sweetest Hangover. Miss Platnum doesn’t see herself as an Ethno or World Music artist. Miss Platnum’s tunes are modern, urban, danceable but still organic, spontaneous and effortless. And that’s how things should sound like. Some say the Balkan starts right behind the Danube. Others say, the border river would be the Drau or the Save. Utterly wrong. The Balkan starts in our hearts.
