Goldfrapp

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Sublime, decadent, futuristic, twisted and elegant were among the less feverish words employed to describe the genre-defying music conjured up by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, the writing and performing duo, on Goldfrapp’s landmark debut, Felt Mountain. Goldfrapp is breathing somewhere where Portishead meets Björk. Alison Goldfrapp has a vocal range many opera singers would envy. With the new album, Black Cherry, they entwine classic songwriting with the most abstract of modern music, making a bold statement in an increasingly fractured world. Black Cherry hits like a coming of age explosion of colour and noise and of a lust for life. Goldfrapp, the show, isn’t just good live, it’s extraordinary. The elegance of the albums is still there but it’s given an even more dangerous twist – this will be one of the most hype and exciting live performances of the new millennium.
