Doves

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

With the current third album Some Cities, Doves are at the peak of creativity. They’re a band of tremendous musicians and clever thinkers, contemplative spirits and profound souls, often compared to The Verve or Coldplay – even prompting the NME to call them “the new Radiohead”. Marrying pop sensibilities, rock fortitude, electronic experiments, and Britpop manifestos, the Doves have concocted an irresistible potion, carrying their intoxicating message to the masses. Just as the brilliant previous albums, Lost Souls and The Last Broadcast, Some Cities brims with confidence… contains choruses more infectious than the bird flu! Simply another poetic rock masterpiece featuring flawlessly crafted guitar rock, influenced by the halcyon days of “Madchester”. Do the sums: Mancunian melancholia + woozy psychedelia + sonic whoosh and you’re left with Doves and, by God, they make being sad after drugs sound truly great.
