Asian Dub Foundation

at den Atelier Doors: 7:00 pm

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Introducing, in the leftwing corner, the shoutiest, angriest, bounciest band in Britain – ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Asian Dub Foundation! They are a unique and complete crossover band that spans everything from jungle to techno, with tablas and angry lyrics twisted into a punk DIY attitude. It’s about responsibility to music, to England’s Asian communities, to education and to themselves. The Asian Dub Foundation found a welcoming fan base among the anti-fascist movement, addressing the issue of racism as it affected Britain’s ethnic minorities in general. ‘Massive not passive’ became their catchphrase, a reaction to the stereotypical image of Asian people as doormats. The current album, Enemy Of The Enemy, is an impressive work of art! ADF’s live shows are legendary…
