Receiving fanmail from Thom Yorke and Devendra Banhart, British singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes might be indie rock's only authentic mystic. Born in 1979, yet combining influences that span decades, Natasha’s work dwells in the elemental, emerging in timeless forms. Her phenomenal albums Fur And Gold and Two Suns have enjoyed praise from left, right and centre – the single Daniel remains simply amazing to this very day… – her new release, The Haunted Man, will be out in the autumn. Pounding on pianos, cranking out delicate little click-clack beats and shivering through choruses with an ultraromantic soprano, Khan proves she's a powerhouse under her billowy sleeves. She could be the next Kate Bush – or, at the very least, she could be Björk's new spirit animal.
