20:15 Mister Goldhand

The funky style quartet was born in 2010 when Fred Hormain, alias «the Goldhand», gathered for this project some of the most well known names in live performing of the moment, that is to say: Paulo Simoes (guitar/FunkyP), Benoît Martiny (drums/BMB) and Romain Christnach (bass/Serge Tonnar).

With such strong individual experiences, the band was quickly demanded all over France and Europe for many solo performances, but also to ensure first parts for internationally famous artists as Candy Dulfer (2013).

Mister Goldhand’s compositions sound like a Maceo Parker’s root funk crossed with that sensuous rock groove of Prince, with free and electro style. It gives birth to what they like to call the «Power Funk».

Mister Goldhand on stage blows up with pure energy. You will find in all its strength on the band’s first opus entitled «Live from Planet Groove».

21:15 Larry Graham and the Graham Central Station feat Candy Dulfer

Larry Graham is one of the most influential bass players in the world. He is credited with the invention of the funky “slapping” technique, which radically expanded the tonal palette of the bass. This "slap" bass style was later used by such artists as Bootsy Collins, Stanley Clarke, Mark King and of course Marcus Miller.

In addition to having been the bassist for the ’60s supergroup Sly & the Family Stone, Larry has led his own band, Graham Central Station, for the past forty years.

Four decades after Graham Central Station’s first outing, the same potent ingredients that made the band a funk powerhouse in its early years are still very much in the mix: thumping funk rhythms, infectious melodies and riffs, tight grooves, and of course, that churning slap-and-pluck bass undercurrent that pushes it all into overdrive.

In recent years, Larry Graham has been the bassist of choice for “His Purpleness Prince”. On a regular basis, Larry plays with Prince and Prince even made a guest appearance on the Graham Central Station Concert on the North Sea Jazz Festival this year! Prince also featured on Graham’s 1998 album GCS 2000 and also on last year’s recording “Raise Up”.

Candy Dulfer will complete this “funky” night making a very special guest appearance. Just like Larry Graham, she has a very close friendship to PRINCE, who once said: “When I need sax, I call Candy”. She is a real ambassador of funk music and regularly features a lot of artists like Prince, Maceo Parker, Van Morrison and of course Dave Stewart with their legendary hit: “Lily was here”.
