Sinéad Marie Bernadette O'Connor, the Irish singer-songwriter rose to fame in the late 1980s with her debut album The Lion And The Cobra. O'Connor achieved massive worldwide success with the cover song, Nothing Compares 2 U, composed by Prince. Sinéad has always been a safe bet when it comes to stirring controversy... especially in regard with all things catholic, women's rights, war or child abuse. She's a die-hard pacifist, actually. A cult figure of Ireland as well. While her shaved head was initially an assertion against traditional views of women, years later, O'Connor said she had begun to grow her hair back, but that after being asked if she was Enya, O'Connor shaved it off again. How About I Be Me (And You Be You)? is the title of her upcoming ninth full-length album, featuring a first single, The Wolf is Getting Married.
