Drugstore are a truly unique band. Back to give the world more beauty and more music journalist headaches. When they released their eponymous debut album in March 1995, British music critics practically exhausted their thesauruses in heaping praise on Drugstore. Melody Maker described their music as "delicious poison... music with an irresistibly morbid glamour. Sex and addictive chemicals and evil sounds, mixed and stirred into beautifully sad, delightfully diseased songs... that veer between vulnerability and viciousness, compassion and contempt." The album was rated 'Bloody Essential' in Melody Maker and came 4th in their end of year poll. Drugstore is now touring their second gem of an album White Magic For Lovers and the new single El President however promises to bring Drugstore the success they so richly deserve, having Thom Yorke of Radiohead guesting, as it does.
